There are several opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students in the IGERT program to benefit from seminars and workshops that are conducted at Brandeis University.
IGERT Seminar Series
Brandeis' IGERT
Seminar Series, organized by both graduate and postdoc trainees,
gave the students an opportunity to invite speakers of interest
to them. Each seminar provided a two-hour pedagogical session
for the trainees and other interested students. Each speaker
gave a master class as a mixture of lecture/discussion to the
IGERT students and a seminar to the community at large.
Neurobiology Journal Club
The Neurobiology
Journal Club meets each Tuesday at noon. All IGERT students
attend and participate in the Neurobiology Journal Club. There
are a large number of other seminars on campus, as well. IGERT
students also pursue these additional opportunities.
M.R. Bauer Foundation Colloquium Series
The M.R.
Bauer Foundation Colloquium Series provides an impressive
series of colloquia on emerging topics in neuroscience. Twice
a year, an outstanding neuroscientist is invited to spend an
entire week at Brandeis interacting extensively with students
and postdocs. They also give a series of lectures.
