The Brandeis Electron Microscopy facility is located on the 4th floor of the Rosenstiel Basic Medical Sciences Research Center at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Instruments and training are available not only for Brandeis faculty, staff, and lab members but also members of the broader scientific community, including other academic institutions and for-profit organizations. The Electron Microscopy Facility is under the direction of Dr. Bruce Goode and Dr. Avital Rodal and is managed by Mike Rigney. Rates for various users can be found in the dropdown menu above.

Beginning July 2018, new EM facility staff member Dr. Berith Isaac is available for sample preparation and to collect and analyze imaging data. The facility will charge users $50/hour for her time. Please contact her directly at bisaac@brandeis.edu to discuss your project.

Our Leica HPM-100 high-pressure freezer, AFS2 freeze-substitution device, and UC6 ultramicrotome are also now available for independent use by trained users or for assisted use with Dr. Isaac. Assisted use will be billed at Dr. Isaac’s hourly rate in addition to the listed instrument use fee.
