Description

Mushroom: 2.5-10 cm (1-4") wide and 2-4 cm (3/4-1 5/8") tall. Round covered with rough warts. Yellow- brown.

Flesh: White.

Spore print: White turning black with age.

Habitat and Range

Single to many. On the ground, woods debris, near trees, in woods and sandy soil. Throughout North America.  

Season

July-November.

Comments:

Sclerodrma citrinum has a thick lined wall (like this one) and wartier outside, and Sclerodrma areolatum has a thin wall and this outter shell.
