Description

Growth Form: Low creeping shrub with distinct stems.

Flowers:
Curved petals form a cap. Stamen form a beak. Flowers donít grow from tip of stem; grow a few inches from the top. Flower from June to August.

Fruits: Large juicy red berries. Grow underneath leaves.

Habitat and Range

Open bogs. S. Canada to Illinois and Virginia.

Season

Berries harvested fall to winter.
