Gall maker: Callirhytis lanata, a gall wasp (Order Hymenoptera, Family Cynipidae).

Shape and Size: Called the "wooly oak gall." Consists of wooly cells, usually clustered in bunches with other wooly oak galls. Size may range from under 0.6 cm to just over 1.5 cm in diameter.

Location: On underside of Quercus sp. leaves.

Color: Wool is pale brown.
