Gall maker: Eurosta solidaginis, a gall fly (Order Diptera, Family Tephritidae).

Shape and Size: Aptly called the "goldenrod ball gall." Globose or onion-shaped stem gall. To over 3 cm in diameter.

Location: On stems of goldenrod (Solidago sp.) plants, summer.

Color: Color is the same as the overall stem structure.
