Preferred Habitat: adaptable plant, tolerating a range of soil pH, moisture, and textures

Range: Native range is from Southern Europe to China

Height: up to 4.5 meters (15 feet)

Leaves: alternate, simple, distinct oval to obovate shape with up to 7 cm long blade and a rounded apex

Flowers: produces clouds of airy smoky pink, purple and white flowers during season growth

Fruit: small, 0.3 cm brown drupes are kidney shaped

Extra information: the foliage color of the purple flowers will fade with the increasing heat of summer
