Vitis vinifera (and related species) Found: cultivated in many areas, also found in woods and growing on fence posts Height: varies, it is a climbing vine Leaves: lobed or rounded with tendrils opposite the leaves Uses: Grape seeds contain chemicals known as oligomeric procyanidins, which are used commercially to make antioxidants. Microcirculatory problems (such as easy bruising and varicose veins) also respond well to treatment with grape seed extract. |
