Leaves of Ground Juniper

Needles hollow, occurring in bundles of three (whorls*), with dark green tops and whitened undersides. Leaves can be either scale-like or sharp and three-sided. Often, both types are present on the same twig; ¼ to 7/8 inches (6-22 millimeters) in length.
