Habitat: In mixed woods, often in wet areas

Color:Cap orange/red, fading with age. gills white to yellow, stalk white

Size: Cap is 6-15 cm in diameter, stalk is 5-10 cm long, 3 cm thick

Gills: Attached , broad, not close.

Spore Print: Yellowish white

Edibility: Edible but not recommended

Characteristics: The cap is nearly flat, but often depresses and even warps. These mushrooms can grow in clusters or on their own. The capsa are slimy when wet.
