The Pink Family has flowers with 4 or 5 petals that are pink and notched. They gnerally have 5 or 10 stamens, and 5 sepals. The most prominate feature of the flowers in the pink family are that the whorled or opposite leaves have swollen joints. This means that that the spot where the leaves meet the stem it is swollen. They are mostly herbs, and sometimes shrubs. We found one out of the 90 speices in our area.
