Description
Deciduous tree up to 36.6 meters (120ft) tall. Bark is dark, relatively smooth and striped. Leaves are hairless, bristle-tipped, and multi-lobed.

Location
Found in woods. Ranges throughout Eastern United States and Southern Canada.

Uses and Parts Used

Uses are identical to those of White Oak (Quercas alba).

Notes
Although Uses and Parts Used are the same as those of White Oak, lower tannin levels in Red Oak may cause remedies and their effects to be weaker.
