Brandeis University Diversity Statement
From the Diversity at Brandeis web page:
“Diversity, equity, and inclusion across our multiple social identities benefit our entire community. When we work and learn with people who are different from us, we are more likely to solve problems creatively, enhance our critical thinking skills, and develop our strengths as teachers and as learners.”
In the Genetic Counseling Program, we believe that diversity enhances everyone’s learning, broadens the perspective of each individual beyond their own experiences, and ultimately helps one become a stronger genetic counselor For this reason, students learn from many voices across the curriculum including families impacted by genetic conditions, non-genetics professionals, as well as genetics professionals across a variety of practice areas. We welcome applicants from all segments of the population, individuals who are just graduating from college or pursuing a career change, and those with varying types of life experience.
