Type of Students Entering the Biochemistry and Biophysics Graduate Program
Students entering this graduate program typically come from either of two kinds of undergraduate backgrounds – chemical-biological or physical. In the first category, most students have taken courses in cell biology, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. In the second category, most students have had more experience with physics and mathematics, and less with biological subjects. Our curriculum expects that all students will have familiarity with basic calculus, introductory physics and chemistry, and that they will be willing to review basic concepts in organic and physical chemistry.
