1. Enzymes of natural product biosynthesis

 

Filamentous fungi produce a wide variety of natural products, including penicillin and mycophenolic acid.    Uffe Mortensen (DTU) and colleagues at the Danish Technical University have developed the genetic and analytical tools required to delineate these biosynthetic pathways.  We are characterizing the fascinating enzymes that emerge from this work.
