I am interested in how listeners apply what they know about language, and the world around them, to understanding spoken words. For example, and individual differences approach allows for a nuanced investigation of how cognitive abilities, sensory declines, and language expertise interact with language comprehension in the aging population. Previously, I have also explored how listeners successfully adapt to the natural variation that occurs because different talkers produce speech sounds differently. I have experience using EEG/ERP, eye tracking, and reaction time measures.
