Rosbash Lab Job Positions |
Personnel in the Rosbash lab come in three flavors:
|
1) Postdoctoral Fellowships and Research Associates: There are currently post-doctoral opportunities
in the lab. Applications should be made by email
or mail to Dr. Rosbash, with an accompanying
CV. |
|
2) Graduate Students: Although graduate students and rotation students
work in the Rosbash laboratory (see people/directory on the website) students
must enter through a relevant Brandeis program, usually one of the Life
Science Ph.D. programs. There is no other possibility of entering the
Rosbash lab as a student, and the boss (Rosbash) has no influence on the
Brandeis admissions process (difficult as this is to believe). All accepted
Brandeis Ph.D. students receive a tuition waver and a stipend (currently
27,000/yr plus health insurance). They have to do rotations in at least
three labs during their first year, and then a permanent thesis lab is
chosen by mutual agreement between the student and a professor. No pre-facto
arrangement can be made between a prospective student and a faculty member,
which further emphasizes the importance of your credentials when applying
for entrance to a Life Science program and then when selecting a laboratory
at the end of your rotations. Because of these practices, please do not
inquire about whether you can be a Ph.D. student in this laboratory before
being admitted to a Ph.D. program. |
3) Technicians and Research Specialists: There are no positions currently open.
