Laboratory Technician I - This job requires performing basic aspects of laboratory operations in a research lab, including maintaining Drosophila stocks, preparation of solutions and media, record keeping and database maintenance, procurement of lab supplies, overseeing biological safety procedures, wet bench experiments, and supervising undergraduate lab aides. The position provides excellent opportunities for continued scientific learning and development. This is a full time job. BS (BA) in Biology or its equivalent as well as lab experience required. Familiarity with Drosophila and/or molecular biology preferred.
Research Technician II - This job requires a highly motivated individual who will utilize a wide range of approaches including molecular biology to support a group studying circadian rhythms, behavior, and gene expression. Routine lab tasks may include Drosophila genetics, RNA isolation, library preparations for next generation sequencing, work with tissue culture cells, and computer data analysis. This is a full time job. BS (BA) in Biology or its equivalent as well as 2 or more years of non-classroom based lab experience required. Familiarity with Drosophila, molecular biology, and/or bioinformatics (perl/python/linux) preferred.
