Bob the Fish

Species Betta splendens
"Siamese Fighting Fish"

The males of this species cannot be kept in the same tank, as they will fight each other to the death.

When two males approach each other, they will flare their gills outward, making them look ferocious.  If a single male in a tank sees his reflection in the glass, he will often mistake himself for another male, and start flaring his gills.

Bob has recently left us for the Great Beyond.  He will be sorely missed.

This little fellow isn't Bob himself, but you get the idea...
